IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please note that there will be a last-minute change to the speaker and topic of the upcoming Speaker event on September 28th (please see below for more information). Also, please note that this event will be held virtually, and we will not be having a live presentation.  This comes as a result of the rising COVID cases and hospitalizations.

Speaker: Myriam Gerber, PhD Candidate, Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec

This presentation provides an overview of the evolution of the museum as we know it today as an esteemed cultural and educational institution, beginning with the cabinets of curiosities of the late Middle Ages to modern day installations. While early exhibitions were private collections, exclusively accessible to the social elites, and served as much as symbols of power as well as research centres, today, museums provide tourist attractions, entertainment, social justice and reconciliation, political education and new realities.

Free presentation – donations accepted.

Registration is required. Please fill out the form below and a Zoom link will be sent to you prior to the event.
