The NWMP and the Distracted Prime Minister

Guest Speaker: Jim Higgs, Edmonton & District Historical Society

Cocktails 5:30 pm; Dinner 6:00 pm

The Mounties’ march west in the summer of 1874 is a little know but epic tale.  We will be sharing the questionable leadership calls and misadventures that will make this a memorable experience for the audience.  You will leave with a new appreciation for the brave and hardy men who made up Canada’s Mounted Police Force.

Following the presentation, members and their guests are invited to stay for the EDHS Annual General Meeting.

Doors open at 5:30, and dinner will start at 6:00. To cover the cost of the meal and venue, tickets $50 for members, and $60 for non-members.

For members who wish to join us only for the AGM, you can arrive at 8:00 pm and no ticket will be required.

In an effort to keep our members safe during the Codiv-19 pandemic, John Rowand Night has been cancelled. Anyone who has already paid will have their ticket price refunded.

The AGM will be postponed until we can reasonably and safely have it. We are currently expecting it to be in the fall of 2020 after one of our regularly scheduled events. Please keep an eye out for updates in the newsletter, on our website, and through our social media.
