Volunteer Opportunity: Newsletter Editor

The Edmonton and District Historical Society is seeking a volunteer editor for our quarterly newsletter.

In collaboration with the Newsletter Liaison from the organization’s Board of Directors, the Newsletter Committee and our Promotion & Design Consultant, the editor will be responsible for the selection, editorial review and overall identity of the publication. The editor will seek out and occasionally contribute articles for the physically-published newsletter offered as a benefit to the hundreds of enthusiastic members who comprise our readership. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain experience and develop a greater understanding of our region’s history.

We publish in January, March, August and October every year, with plenty of room for the editor to plan their seasonal workload around the rest of their schedule. Volunteers of any background with any area(s) of expertise or interest are encouraged to apply.

If you are interested in serving as editor, please submit to info@historicedmonton.ca a one-page letter of interest outlining your experience and what you’d like to bring to the position. This opportunity will remain open until a suitable candidate is identified.

In the event that you are interested in helping with editorial review, layout or soliciting/writing articles for our newsletter but are not prepared to commit to the editor position, please send a brief introductory message to info@historicedmonton.ca.
