This year we are joined by Paul Blinov, preformer and author of We Made It All Up: 40 years of Rapid Fire Theatre. Beginning in 1980, Rapid Fire Theatre produced more than 300 improv shows every year, bringing Edmontonians every oppertunity to laugh. We Made It All Up documents that 40-year trajectory in unparalleled detail: drawing on more than 70 interviews with players, alumni, technicians, board members, and the greater arts community, it traces the company’s growth from a water-testing weekly show to an acclaimed jewel in the global improv scene.
Paul (he/him) has been performing with Rapid Fire Theatre since 2006. He is currently the company’s Associate Director of Education (Youth), which means he oversees most of Rapid Fire’s high school programming. He’s the Alberta Regional Director for the Canadian Improv Games, a nation-wide high school improv festival. Fancy! Paul has taught and performed improv in places like Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg, Seattle, Atlanta, and Chiang Mai (Thailand!). In 2018, he was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award as part of sketch comedy duo Gossamer Obsessions.
