Membership

The Edmonton and District Historical Society (EDHS) is a non-profit, charitable society with a mandate to promote, preserve, and celebrate the history of Edmonton and the surrounding district. Our members include the general public, professional historians, educators and writers – anyone with a passion for history.

By becoming a member you make the activities and programs offered by Edmonton and District Historical Society (EDHS) possible, and are helping to promote an appreciation and passion for our shared history.

As an EDHS member, you will receive a local quarterly newsletter with information on the Speaker Series, Historic Festival and Special Events. As part of your accompanying membership in the HSA you will receive the newsletter History Now and the journal, Alberta History.

The Edmonton and District Historical Society is a local chapter of the Historical Society of Alberta (HSA), a provincial organization created in 1907 to preserve and disseminate Alberta’s history through its publications. When you become a member of the EDHS, you also become a member of the HSA. The HSA will register you, and forward your membership details to us. You’ll become a member of the HSA and EDHS at the same time, for one membership price.
