Quarantine -The Spanish Flu of 1918-1919 SOLD OUT
Dr. Trudy Cowan
Cocktails: 6:00 p.m., Dinner: 6:30 p.m.
The effects of the devastating 1918-1919 “Spanish Flu” pandemic were worsened by lack of medical knowledge and by the Great War’s impact on the health of younger, previously healthy individuals in cities, towns and rural communities across Alberta and around the world. What do the archives teach us about health issues and how do we teach young people about the frightening parts of history?
Following the presentation, members and their guests are invited to stay for the EDHS Annual General Meeting.
We have sold out of tickets for the dinner and talk, but interested parties are still more than welcome to attend ONLY the AGM part of the program for no cost, they can congregate in the Faculty club lobby and at 8:20 PM they will be guided into the Saskatchewan banquet room to participate in the AGM starting at 8:30PM.
