Event Details

The Charles Camsell Indian Hospital is an often untold or misunderstood part of the Edmonton story. In recent years, the Camsell has made headlines again as it relates to the forced sterilization of Indigenous women, the Prime Minister’s apology for Inuit treatment of TB, the class action lawsuit filed by former Indian Hospital patients, and the locating and marking of burial sites. For more than a decade, Miranda Jimmy, a passionate Edmontonian and member of Thunderchild First Nation, has been bringing this history to light and supporting patients, loved ones, and communities on their search for their own Camsell truth.
