Housed within historic McKay Avenue School, the oldest brick school in Alberta, Edmonton Public Schools Archives and Museum is a downtown Edmonton treasure. Your self-guided tour will show you educational history from 1881 to 1950s through period classrooms and interpretive displays. You will also see the restored 1906 legislative chamber where Alberta’s first legislature met.

Self Guided Tour: Mon – Fri 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Guided Interactive Tour: Thurs 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 1881 Schoolhouse & Grandma’s Place
