Publications
The Edmonton and District Historical Society has sponsored and produced many excellent original historical works about Edmonton and Northern Alberta. Here are our most recent offerings.
The Fur Trade in the West
Written by Phyllis Arnold, The Fur Trade in the West is a student resource written at an upper elementary reading level, with 80 pages of text, maps, photos, charts and many other visuals. This publication was the the Book Publishers Association of Alberta Children and Young Adult Book of the Year in 2017. The Fur Trade in the West is available for $19.95 per copy at Audrey’s Books.
Rivers and Rails
Rivers and Rails is the first publication in our occasional paper series. Prepared by Alan Vanterpool, an enthusiastic and prolific writer with a special interest in Alberta railways and bridges, this inaugural edition examines lesser known aspects of our history. The Edmonton and District Historical Society (EDHS) is committed to publishing a series of numbered occasional papers that will include edited primary-source material, collections of essays, out-of-print texts and historical manuscripts. These occasional papers will cover aspects of the history of Edmonton and district from various perspectives. Rivers and Rails is available for $19.95 per copy at Audrey’s Books.
