More than 100 people came to hear Sharon Morin’s October 23 Speaker Series presentation on the Métis of Alberta.
Sharon took the crowd on a journey through time, exploring the history of particular communities (with a focus on the settlements of St. Albert and Lac Ste. Anne), the symbols of Métis culture, political aspirations and significant achievements, notably the recognition of Métis as Indigenous people in the Canadian Constitution. Sharon also shared tales of her own family and of many well known and interesting people from our past. It was a very informative and thoroughly absorbing evening. Thank you Sharon!
